Higher Cases in Krishna, Guntur: TDP Blames Jagan

The Covid-19 cases registered in Guntur and Krishna districts are way higher than the positive cases recorded in Vizag and across Uttar Andhra region. TDP leaders are now suspecting some foul play by CM Jagan and his administration.

Andhra Pradesh so far has reported 525 Corona positive cases, out of which 20 have recovered and 14 have succumbed to the deadly disease. However, the state government has given district-wise break-up for only 363 cases out of total 525 cases. This is raising suspicions and that's what being pointed out by the TDP leaders.

As per government's list, Guntur is the highest in AP with 122 positive cases with Kurnool is in the second place with 113 positive cases, followed by Nellore (third place) with 58 cases, Krishna (fourth place) with 48 cases. Srikakulam and Vizianagaram have zero number of positive cases as per the government data.

TDP leaders are alleging that the government is not transparent in releasing the figures of Corona positive cases. They alleged that CM Jagan is underplaying the impact of Covid-19 on Uttar Andhra districts as he wants to shift the capital from Amaravati to Vizag. TDP leaders allege that the demand for Amaravati as capital is intact in Guntur, Krishna districts where farmers haven't budged on their demand despite the Corona Virus outbreak.

"CM Jagan has conspired against Guntur and Krishna districts and showing them as hard-hit so that he could immediately initiate capital shifting as soon as lockdown ends after controlling the Corona Virus pandemic," said a senior leader of TDP.

While CM Jagan has announced Vizag as the Executive Capital and Vijayawada as Administrative Capital and Kurnool as the Judicial Capital, people in Amaravati has been protesting against government's move. AP Assembly has passed two resolutions - one scrapping the APCRDA (AP Capital Region Development Authority) and the second is the decentralization of capitals. TDP leaders allege that CM Jagan continues to indulge in politics despite the fact that the state is grappling with Covid-19 pandemic. They allege that the removal of State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar by bringing a new ordinance at these times also proves that CM Jagan is doing politics. One has to wait and watch how YCP leaders counter to TDP leaders allegations.
