Lockdown extension rumours: Centre reacts

With the increase in Corona positive cases in India, there is a rumour making rounds that the union government might extend the lockdown to May 1st or June 1st. Several national media and leaders to made comments in similar manner.

Going by this rumour, the people of the country have made their mind to stick to homes for a month or so. But the Centre never reacted on this. On Monday, Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba held a press meet and the media asked about the extension of the lockdown.

Reacting on this, the Centre has no clue from where these rumours come out. "I'm surprised to see such reports, there is no such plan of extending the lockdown," said Rajiv.

This is a sign of relief but the Centre and respective state governments should be on high alert as there are many chances of the virus spreading. Simultaneously the lockdown doesn't depend upon the Centre, it's up to the states too. Telangana CM KCR has already indicated that the lockdown could be for a few more days.

So let's see how long the lockdown would last for.
