Corona Worries: German Minister commits suicide

The Finance Minister of Germany's Hesse state, Thomas Schaefer has reportedly committed suicide due to extreme worry ness on the coronavirus outbreak. It is said that Schaefer was deeply worried about coping over the novel virus pandemic as the economic fallout has upset him.

The state premier Volker Bouffier said that currently, the state is in complete shock over his death news. "We are in disbelief and immensely sad," he added. Schaefer was 54-year-old and he was found dead near a railway track on Saturday.

So far, the Wiesbaden prosecution's office believes it to be a suicide. Schaefer was Hesse's finance chief for 10 years and he worked 24/7 to help companies and workers deal with the economic impact of the pandemic.

"Today we have to assume that he was deeply worried. It's precise during this difficult time that we would have needed someone like him," said Bouffier, a close ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
