The Police stations in Hyderabad in Panjagutta, SR Nagar, Kukatpally, Madhapur and Rachakonda Commissiobnerate are crowded with thousands of students from as early as 7 AM in the morning. The reasons are two.
Most of them were there to request for a No-Objection letter from the police, so they can travel to their native places from Hyderabad, as all the educational institutions, Hostels, foot eateries remain closed till April 15th.
There are reports that the Police have allowed some of them initially, those who have the confirmed vehicle details. There are others who kept on requesting to allow them to travel on two-wheelers even up to Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Chennai with a pillion rider to take turns in driving.
There seems to be an underlying problem of closing the hostels in Hyderabad behind the travel requests and many students who just decided to travel on their own and also those with NOCs were stopped at check-posts at Telangana-AP Border.
Thousands of students & employees gather at police stations in #Hyderabad to get permission to leave Telangana & travel to #AndhraPradesh. This after their hostels asked them to vacate or refused to serve food because of the lockdown. No social distancing followed. #COVID2019 pic.twitter.com/WncoEQLEg0— Paul Oommen (@Paul_Oommen) March 25, 2020
