CM Jagan's New House on Rushikonda Hilltop?

CM Jagan's New House on Rushikonda Hilltop?

Undeterred and unfazed by the agitation of Amaravati farmers which entered 93rd day, Andhra Pradesh state government is making quick moves towards shifting the capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

As Secretariat employees have given their go ahead to move to Executive Capital Vizag by end of May or early June, arrangements are being made to provide accommodation to AP secretariat employees. Meanwhile, officials are also making full arrangements for CM's official residence.

It is reported that CM YS Jagan's family members have opted for Rushikonda hilltop for CM's official residence. Officials are said to be weighing various options though. While Rushikonda hilltop has some guest houses belonging to AP Tourism, however, the roads and buildings were not in good shape.

Officials have to lay fresh roads and make repairs to the buildings and this would result in higher costs. Since it is not easy to lay roads uphill, officials are said to be considering the option.

CMO officials are also considering Thotlakonda Buddhist site as another option for CM's official residence. However, there are strict restrictions from the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) of India on Thotalakonda.

Given this, permanent buildings are not allowed to construct on Thotlakonda Buddhist site. So, CMO officials are considering to go with Rushikonda hilltop as the hilltop view from the CM's residence would look great.

CM Jagan's wife YS Bharati said to have voted for Rushikonda. Even Vastu compliant is said to be good for Rushikonda and CM Jagan's advisers have conveyed the same to CM and CMO officials.

It is learnt that Administrative Building is also being considered to be set up near Rushikonda. A private contractor is said to be constructing buildings near Rushikonda and officials said to have asked him to speed up the works so that government could lease the buildings for the sake of Administrative officials.

And another option that is being considered is the present building of Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA). As several higher officials are expected to move by May, the government and officials are hunting for their houses.

On the other hand, the Corona scare is intact in Telugu states. While the Telangana registered 13 corona cases, AP has 2 positive Covid-19 cases. Notwithstanding the widespread of Corona pandemic, CM Jagan is quite occupied with politics as well as shifting the capital from Amaravati to Vizag.
