Gogoi takes oath as MP, oppositions walk out

Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has taken oath as member of Parliament for Rajya Sabha in the presence of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Gogoi was nominated to the Upper House by President of India Ramnath Kovind on March 16th but this did not go well with the oppositions.

While Gogoi was taking oath, the oppositions have staged a walk out from the Upper House as a mark of protest. The oppositions claimed that this is a 'quid pro quo' deal between the BJP government and Gogoi.

After accepting the nomination from the President, justice Gogoi said he would clarify things after taking oath. He added his presence in parliament will be an opportunity to project the views of the judiciary before the legislature and vice versa.

Now what will Gogoi talk about his nomination and the association with Modi sarkar are some of the interesting things to be seen.

Will Gogoi take on the oppositions and senior advocates like Katju, Kapil Sibal for criticizing him? Sounds definitely.
