Galla Jayadev To Quit TDP?

Galla Jayadev To Quit TDP?

Beleaguered TDP is going through a major political crisis as its senior leaders are leaving the party ahead of local body elections. While YCP wants to snatch majority of seats by hook or crook, TDP is planning to put a tough fight. However, leaders of TDP are giving a rude shock to the party by leaving the party in this crucial situation.

Amidst this, rumours are rife that Guntur Lok Sabha MP Galla Jayadev is toying with the idea of quitting TDP. Galla Jayadev is one of the richest Parliamentarians and he is a strong voice for the party in Lok Sabha. He is a well-read and well-spoken MP from TDP. If Galla quits TDP, this would be a big jolt to TDP indeed as its number in Lok Sabha would come down from existing 3 to 2. The other two Lok Sabha MPs for TDP are Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani and Srikakulam MP Rammohan Naidu. Kesineni Nani's daughter Swetha Kesineni is TDP's Mayor Candidate for Vijayawada city. So, Nani is doing his best to make her daughter win the seat.

As there is a stiff anti wave against ruling YCP over its decision to shift capital to Vizag, Kesineni Nani wants to turn this negativity in his daughter's favour in the coming polls. Srikakulam MP Rammohan Naidu too working for the party in the coming elections. However, Galla Jayadev is said to be doubt. Some rumours have it that Galla would quit TDP by March 2020. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited. Guntur West MLA Giridhara Rao's exit from the party said to be adding fuel to the ongoing rumours of Galla Jayadev's exit.

It can be noted that Chirala MLA Karanam Balaram, MLC KE Prabhakar from Kurnool district, former deputy council chairman Satish Reddy from Pulivendula town, Rama Subba Reddy from Jammalamadugu town, Kadiri Babu Rao from Kanigiri town in Prakasam district and Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad from Tadikonda in Guntur district have quit TDP. Already, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi and Guntur West MLA Maddali Giridhara Rao have parted ways from TDP and sitting away from TDP MLAs in the Assembly.

If Jayadev too leaves TDP, this would be a death blow to party. However, senior TDP leaders, on condition of anonymity, are confident of Galla continuing in the party and rubbished them as mere rumours. Let's wait and see, what is in store for TDP in coming local body elections.
