#BiodiversityCarAccident: HC says No Arrest

The Telangana High Court has directed the Hyderabad police not to arrest the car driver of the Volkswagen GT that fell off the Biodiversity flyover in Hyderabad, killing one person on November 23rd.

The car driver is identified as Kalvakuntla Krishna Milan Rao who is the CEO of a private firm and in the accident he suffered couple of injuries. Currently Krishna Milan is getting treated at a private hospital. The police have issued a traffic challan against the car registered number and in connection with the case, they wanted to arrest him after registered cases under 304 and 304(a) sections of IPC.

Krishna Milan approached the High Court and in his petition he claimed that he was driving the car at 40-50 kms speed and it's the design fault of the flyover that caused the accident. Considering the petition, the court told the police not to arrest Krishna Milan until January 3rd.

On the allegations of the design of the flyover, GHMC has denied anything as such. The Superintendent engineer for Serilingampally zone rubbished the claims and added that the design of the flyover is as per the Indian Road Congress (IRC).

However, Krishna Milan's lawyer took the advantage of the first accident that took place on the same flyover. Two people were killed a week before on the flyover and the sharp 'S' curve was the main reason for second accident.

It's been three weeks since the accident and still the flyover is closed for commuters. GHMC has no clue when they would open the flyover while the traffic is as usual from Raidurgram to Gachibowli and Mindspace.
