Kodela Sivaram surrenders, gets bail

Former speaker Kodela Sivaprasad's son Sivram surrendered himself before a court in Narsaraopet on Tuesday. After surrendering, Sivaram applied for bail and the court sanctioned him.

After YSRCP forming government in AP, many from Narsaraopet and Sathenapalli have lodged complaints against Kodela Sivaram. They alleged Sivaram imposed K (Kodela) tax in both the places and also indulged in encroachments and other illegal activities. Based on the complaints, five cases across several police stations were filed and all of them are non-bailable warrants.

Sivaram approached the AP High Court on these cases and the court has directed him to surrender before a local court to get bail. Upon the High Court's instructions, Sivaram surrendered at First Munsif Magistrate Court today and then he got bail.
