Over the last few months, Telugu Desam Party has been witnessing an exodus of MLAs and MP candidates into its rival YSR Congress Party. This has not only shocked the ruling party but also has affected its morale internally at a time when elections loom over the party.
Of all the MLAs and MPs making a beeline to the YSRCP, one Telugu Desam Party leader and ex-MLA has been setting an example of a true TDP karyakarta, inspiring those around him. Raavi Venkateswara Rao who has been TDP's Gudivada in-charge and had expected a ticket was denied it at the last moment. The Gudivada assembly ticket from TDP has been given to Devineni Avinash against Kodali Nani of the YSRCP.
In a contest that will be a crucial one between Avinash and Nani, Raavi has been motivating TDP cadre by supporting Avinash's campaign. According to TDP sources, Raavi has been at the forefront of Avinash's campaign in Gudivada. Through his energy and enthusiasm despite not getting a ticket, he has been garnering appreciation for believing in the party and supporting it, at a time when others are quitting it.
Raavi Venkateswara Rao is a key TDP leader in Gudivada as he had contested as an MLA while his family has been loyal to the yellow party for over 25 years now.
