As the Congress party state leadership of Andhra Pradesh have assembled for an SC/ST meeting in Vijayawada on Tuesday, a documentary made by its senior leader KVP Ramachandra Rao has unpredictably put the cat among pigeons after former union minister JD Seelam took an objection to the content in it. The meeting was attended by state Congress in-charge Oomen Chandy, AICC SC/ST cell chief Koppula Raju, PCC president Raghuveera Reddy and other seniors.
During this meeting, KVP-the chief advisor to former CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy- showcased a short film he made on AP special category status and Polavaram Project, but it has unexpectedly attracted the ire from party leaders who straightaway expressed their discontent. After Seelam took an objection for making it one-sided, other leaders stood by him.
Reportedly, Seelam seems to have said: "What is in the documentary? How will it benefit Congress party? This is more of a self-proclamation video and only targeting Chandrababu Naidu, but nothing is against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. We should equally fight on Jagan as majority of our vote bank is in YSRCP. In fact, Jagan's party is our priority compared to TDP. Our party will be able to gain back the strength, only if we target YCP leaders. So, let's not make such one-sides displays going forward."
Though the attendees to the meeting supported Seelam's approach, KVP was quite shocked with the response from the party leadership as he didn't expect it to be in that manner.
