The pre-election heat is fast catching up with all the political parties in Telangana. The ruling TRS party has already announced its first list of candidates for most of the assembly constituencies.
On the other hand, after a delay due to the changing dynamics in seat sharing and pre-poll alliance, both TDP and Congress are finally chalking out strategies to come up with a unanimous list of candidates. And here comes a big surprise.
If the ongoing reports are anything to be believed, the Telangana TDP is planning to field Nandamuri hero Kalyan Ram from the Seeilingampally constituency in Greater Hyderabad. Apparently, Kalyan Ram was initially reluctant to contest the election, but he was eventually convinced by senior T-TDP leaders and Chandrababu.
The Telangana TDP has lost its shine to a great extent following the 2014 elections. With Kalyan Ram's arrival, the party is hoping to gain some mileage, thanks to his popularity as a hero and the sympathy following his father Harikrishna's demise.
On the other hand, Kalyan Ram's camp is laughing off the reports about the actor's political entry. Many are even wondering if both the Nandamuri brothers Kalyan Ram and NTR will be interested in being associated with the TDP in the upcoming general elections.
