With the fast changing political developments in Telangana in the recent past, the Congress high command had reportedly taken a decision to reshuffle the entire Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) including changing the state party Committee President and General Secretaries by February 2017.

Based on the reports submitted by the party in-charges to the AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi, the party high command has come to a conclusion that the party would weaken future sans a strong leadership in the coming days. As the next elections are due in 2019, the party high command is of the strong view that a strong leadership is the need of the hour to keep the flock together and thwart away KCR's attempt to weaken the opposition through his Operation Akarsh. The party already faced big blow with the quitting many senior leaders like D Srinivas and MLAs and MPs to ruling TRS.

The party in-charges also recommended names of the senior leaders from Reddy, Minority, BC and Dalit communities as next TPCC Chief. The high command also held secret meetings with senior leaders and elicited their opinion on change of the guard. Many leaders favoured to bring in new leadership to revitalize the party from village to state level. Senior leaders komatireddy Venkatreddy has been tipped to be the next TPCC president. While DK Aruna, KR Suresh Reddy, M Bhatti Vikramarka and Mohd Ali Shabbir vying for the post.

Meanwhile, Komatireddy Venkatreddy and his younger brother Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy have prepared plans to take up yatras in all 31 districts on their own to ascertain KCR's popularity and the Congress strengthen at ground level . Later, they would take up padayatra in 2017 end. Komatireddy brothers have been staying away from the party activities as the duo were against the leadership of TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy since 2014 election.
