Is It Better to Give a Break to Sid Sriram?

The super success of legendary composer AR Rahman is attributed to his vision of bringing in many singers, who have given a break to themselves, and also brought freshness to the composer's tunes. But the old school formula is that to score a damn hit even with the ordinary tune, one needs a popular singer.

Looks like the same thing is happening with singer Sid Sriram right now as Tollywood keeps on offering him many songs every year, though he is the costliest singer right now in the tinsel town, charging more than 5 lakhs per song. In 2019 and until today in 2020, only a couple of songs sung by Sid including Mella Mellaga (ABCD), Samajavaraganam (Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo) and Neeli Neeli Aakasam (30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela?) are super hits. But he has sung for many films including Gang Leader, Rakshasudu, Dear Comrade, Falaknuma Das, Thoota, Choosi Choodangane and more.

With Akhil's latest film 'Most Eligible Bachelor's first song "Manasa Manasa" featuring Sid's voice, many felt that if the tune is not sounding new, then Sid's voice is also not adding magic to it. This song is more like listening to his popular 'Nuvvunte Na Jathaga' from 'I' movie, which is mainly due to Sid's voice. Maybe if we take a break from him, there will be scope to find new voices, new singers and composers also make sure that they come up with great tunes.
