Prati Roju Pandaage Trailer: Maruthi's Shatamanam Bhavati

Sathyaraj is diagnosed with Lung Cancer in its advance stage. Doctors declare that his life span would be maximum 5 weeks. His children and grand children who live far away from the country are busy with their works. Sathyaraj wants his sons and their families with him in his last stage. But his children have different plans. Then here comes the grandson Sai Dharam Tej who makes surprise entry to take care of his ailing grandfather.

"Ippathi Varaku Nuvvu Cheddamanukuni Cheyalenivi...Cheyalenanukuni Agipoyinavi, Anni Cheseddam," says the hero to his grandfather. This sums up what Prati Roju Pandaage is all about. The plot and thread appears to be loose inspiration from Satish Vegesna's Shatamanam Bhavati. One can't help but it reminds us of the Sharwanand-Anupama and Prakash Raj starrer film.

However, Director Maruthi has smartly worked upon the script and its treatment to make it appeal fresh. He banked upon the story rather than burdening the lead actor Sai Dharam Tej. The two-minute-odd trailer is nice package of laughs, logics, emotions, sentiments, family bondings and also action treat from Sai Tej as well. It even promises the romance of the lead pair. The chemistry between Sai and Raashi seems to have worked, going by the trailer. Raashi Khanna's Rajahmundry accent is refreshing.

But it is Sathyaraj whose character stands out in the trailer. The whole films revolves around him. Sai Tej is good in his portions. Rao Ramesh is at it again. He tickles the funny-bones with his mannerisms, dialogue delivery. 'Last Days Lo Kuda Logics Ki Emi Takkuva Ledu', mouths Rao Ramesh.

In another scene Rao Ramesh gives direct reference to Shatamanam Bhavati itself. "Anthe Shatamanam Bhavati Cinemalo Laaga, Prakash Raj Vidakulu Isthunna Ani Biscuit Veyyagane, Pillalandaru Nijama Ani Paloomani Parugethukuntu Vachestaru..Enduku Emayindi Ani Adagakunda. Ala Mememayina Parigettukuni Vachesama Ani Chinna Doubt." Dialogues like these are sure going to get whistles and claps from masses.

Glam doll Raashi Khanna surprises with her role as a simple Andhra Ammayi. Though the story isn't new, director Maruthi's treatment to the story is what makes the trailer engaging. The feel-good factor has worked in the film's favour. The unsung hero is music composer SS Thaman. His background is big asset for the trailer.

Prati Roju Pandaage has an ensemble cast and the production values look rich, thanks to the big banners like GA2 Pictures and UV Creations. The film caters to both class audience as well as mass audience. Producer Bunny Vas is all set to release the film on December 20. Will the film really bring celebration to Sai Tej and Maruthi? Will Sankranthi comes early for PRP team? We have to wait and see.
