Whatever is being claimed in the name of Maharshi movie, is currently getting all the attention. After the posters like 175 Crores gross collection, now comes a word that the film is creating a record of sorts in multiplexes for the last four weekends.
According to Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, "Maharshi is the film with the highest occupancy in national multiplexes for the last 4 weekends". Saying that they are asking the audiences to celebrate Maharshi at a theatre near them. Well, the question that arises here is, whether Maharshi is seriously occupying such seats or not.
Little fact check on ticket booking websites shows that the film is hardly running for 10-15 shows a day in big corporate multiplexes in Hyderabad and in screens that have 120-250 screen count. And the occupancy is nearly 50% on weekends, and maybe Dil Raju's production house is claiming that is the consistent and highest occupancy rate for a Telugu film in recent times.
With no other his films around, surely we might buy into this argument put on by Dil Raju's team. However, the multiplexes and single screens are finding huge occupancy for films like Alladin and Vijay Antony's Killer, while Falaknuma Das is doing well in Hyderabad.
