Director Ram Gopal Varma's 'Lakshmi's NTR' is the centre of controversy in Andhra Pradesh politics. RGV made desperate attempts to release the film in AP but the Election Commission has put breaks to it. Despite, EC's orders, three single screen theatres in Kadapa district screened 'Lakshmi's NTR' movie. Getting to know about this, the local Tahasildhar have seized the theatres based on EC's orders.
One of the three theatres is ASR Picture Palace in Railway Koduru. The RDO officials have also cancelled the license of the theatre. However the theatre management is furious over this. They claimed that like all movies, even 'Lakshmi's NTR' was screen with satellite system and without taking any action against the distributor of the film, seizing theatre is injustice.
But the Tahasildhar made it clear that 'Lakshmi's NTR' release is put on hold by the Election Commission and with model code of conduct being in effective, the theatre did not bother about it and went ahead with the screening.
