Congress party is facing difficult situation in Telangana. Growing Reddy
domination in the party did not go well in other communities
particularly BCs - Backward Classes in new state. As a result, the
active participation of BC, SC and Minority leaders in party programmes
diminished in the recent times.
The BC community strongly
objected giving two key posts - Telangana Congress President and CLP
leader posts to Reddy community. While Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jana Reddy
hold the two key posts, majority of the district party President posts
and Assembly constituency incharge posts were given to Reddy community
only.
Barring Reddy community, all other communities are unhappy in Congress for getting a raw deal in party posts, leaders said to contain Reddy influence in the party, the BC Leaders are united and holding series of meetings to strengthen their leadership.
The other
side, TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao began efforts to lure senior most
leaders like Ponnala Laxmaiah, V Hanumantha Rao, Anjan Kumar Yadav and
SC leaders - Damodar Raja Narasimha and J Geeta Reddy into his hold.
KCR
already succeeded in poaching senior most BC leaders like D Srinivas
etc after the formation of Telangana. Taking serious note of declining
their role in Congress, the BC Leaders organised a meeting on July 12
where the leaders will finalize their future plan to strengthen their
leadership.
