Men and Women, Both Prefer Attractive Partners

The research compared the extent to which qualities like attractiveness and resources were seen as 'desirable' versus 'essential' to both men and women when it comes their choice for a long term partner.

Previous studies highlighted how men are bothered more about attractiveness while looking for long term partner, and that women focus more about resources. Now it has been observed that wealthier men and people who look more confident in terms of their appearance exhibited stronger preferences towards a good looking partner.

The study considered heterosexual individuals as competing with others from same gender while bidding to members of the opposite gender for securing a truly romantic partner.
